This frigid staff seems to have been created from never-melting blue ice. When used by a regular arcane spell caster, it acts as a +1 Quarterstaff that grants Resistance 5 to Cold. In the hands of a Spell Scion, however, it has the following properties for the appropriate character level:
- Scion Lv 1: +1 magical, grants resistance 5 to cold and keeps the user cool when in warmer temperatures.
- Scion Lv 2: Adds an extra die of damage done by 1st or 2nd level cold/ice spells.
- Scion Lv 3: +2 magical, grants resistance10 to cold, hit causes Fort save DC 15 or be stunned by cold for 1d6 rounds
- Scion Lv 4: Adds two extra die of damage done by 1st to 3rd level cold/ice spells.
- Scion Lv 5: +3 magical, grants resistance 15 to cold hit causes Fort save DC 15 or be stunned by cold for 1d8 rounds
- Scion Lv 6: Adds three extra die of damage done by 1st to 4th level cold/ice spells.
- Scion Lv 7: +4 magical, grants resistance 20 to cold, hit causes Fort save DC 15 or be stunned by cold for 1d10 rounds
- Scion Lv 8: Adds four extra die of damage done by 1st to 5th level cold/ice spells.
- Scion Lv 9: +5 magical, grants resistance 25 to cold, hit causes Fort save DC 15 or be stunned by cold for 1d12 rounds
- Scion Lv 10: Adds five extra die of damage done by 1st to 6th level cold/ice spells.
