DESCRIPTION

This jagged circlet is formed from bleached coral, barnacle-encrusted bone, and the delicate skeletons of tiny sea creatures fused together in an unsettling lattice. When worn, the crown seems faintly damp, and the wearer may occasionally hear distant ocean sounds - crashing waves, creaking hulls, or muffled screams beneath the water.

The wearer gains a +5 competence bonus on Bluff, Diplomacy, and Intimidate checks. These bonuses apply only when interacting with creatures capable of understanding the wearer, though many report that even animals grow uneasy in the crown’s presence.

Those who wear the crown for extended periods often develop subtle behavioral changes, including a calm affinity for the sea and a growing sense of inevitability when speaking of fate, doom, or the depths.

Crafted from the remains of creatures offered in ritual sacrifice, each crown was meant to designate a mortal emissary - a voice through which Panzuriel’s will could echo across the surface world.

Legends claim that those who don the crown speak with unsettling authority, their words carrying a weight that seems to press upon the minds of listeners like the crushing depths of the ocean. Sailors whisper that entire crews have turned on their captains after a single speech from a crowned figure, convinced they were hearing the truth of the deep.
